What's Included in a Residential Design
A residential landscape plan typically addresses front yard curb appeal, backyard outdoor living areas, and the exact placement of hardscape features such as patios, walkways, fire pits, and retaining walls, all drawn to scale, most commonly at 1/8" scale, with the dimensions needed to estimate and build the project. Plant selection is chosen specifically for southern Utah's climate and soil, factoring in sun exposure and water use, since a beautiful plan that doesn't survive the local growing season isn't a functional one. We also design around the architectural features of your home itself, using plant placement and hardscape lines to draw attention to what makes your property stand out. As with all our plans, designs are considered conceptual until real-world measurements are verified on-site, which we're upfront about before any materials are ordered or work begins.
How Our Residential Design Process Works
We start with a free phone consult to understand how you actually want to use your outdoor space, whether that's entertaining, privacy, gardening, or simply improving curb appeal. Next, we gather photos, measurements, and any plot plans you have, and for Cedar City and St. George homeowners, we're glad to meet in person to take those measurements directly. A custom scaled draft is then created in 2D, 3D, or sketch form, and we review it together to make revisions until the plan reflects your taste, space, goals, and budget. Once finalized, your plan is delivered by email and secure link, with paper copies available on request, and we're happy to refer trusted local contractors for installation if you need one.

We’ll guide you on what to send—photos, measurements, or plot plans (if you have them). In Southern Utah? We would love to meet you in person. When we meet we’ll take the photos and measurements needed for landscape plan development if you choose to move forward with a design.
We create your draft plan
We use all the information gathered from our first meeting & create a custom scaled plan. Once the 1st draft is complete we review it with you for any changes ( 2d , 3d or Sketch ). This allows us to custom tailor your yard to your taste, space, goals, and budget. following this second meeting ( often online ) we move on to the 3rd and final meeting in the the design process.
Final plan & refferal
Upon completion of your plan we will schedule a meeting in person (or online). Your plan will be delivered via email & link(s). Paper copies can be provided upon request for a small charge.
We offer a contractor refferals for installation of the project if needed.
